February 11, 2025 – FittFreddie Foundation provided a donation to our Kiwanis Inspired Teens (KIT) Fund that assists youth needing financial assistance for mental health counseling. Not only does FittFreddie Foundation provide funds but they spread awareness of unchecked mental health assessments. Be Present and aware of signs that can alert you to issues with your loved ones. This donation will provide many counseling sessions for teens going through depression, anxiety and thoughts of suicide. December 2024 – $1000 check presentation to International Academy East for their mental health programming to help students with mental health needs. Troy Kiwanis Foundation helped fund a IA East mental health program. Monica Marena – IA East Key Club President, Patrick Griffin – IA East Principal, and School Counselor – Whitney Bernstein accepted the check for the International Academy East mental health program.

Our Kiwanis Foundation raises funds throughout the year. Kiwanis works with our city, schools, local businesses and nonprofit organizations. Our club provides volunteers and support to: local high school Key Clubs, Leadership Summits, Career Fairs, scholarship programs, clothing drives for needy families, Christmas Santa visits, and many more initiatives.
Troy Kiwanis Foundation also funds the Kiwanis Inspired Teens (KIT) Mental Health Counseling program to help youth with financial assistance for counseling sessions.

We support Judson Center, Grace Centers of Hope, Troy Family Daze, Troy Historical Society, various scholarships, Morse Elementary, and City of Troy Dog Park.

Support Grace Centers of Hope (addiction and abuse victims) by providing food and serving dinners to residents. Provide onsite and donation support throughout the year.

We honor him by being able to help youth needing mental health counseling but can't afford it. Troy Kiwanis Foundation Supports Youth Mental Health Initiatives Check presentation for Kiwanis Inspired Teen (KIT) Fund
Troy, Michigan – March 10, 2025 - Troy Kiwanis Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its highly anticipated KIT (Kiwanis Inspired Teens) Fund, aimed at providing essential financial assistance for youth mental health counseling.
Troy Kiwanis members – President – Vicki Cerven-Astell and VP – Lori Sisk along with Troy School District Superintendent – Dr. Richard Machesky presented a $10,000 check to ARISE Counseling Center and Training Institute – Colleen Reveley (Co-Owner).
ARISE Counseling Center & Training Institute will provide mental health counseling sessions funded by the KIT Fund for community youth going through depression, anxiety or mental health crisis.
Mental health is an issue that affects millions of individuals, yet it remains a topic that many people still struggle to openly discuss. With this financial assistance fund, Troy Kiwanis Foundation hopes to provide families (with no financial means or insurance) obtain mental health counseling for their youth’s mental wellness.
This mental health assistance donation will support: • Youth mental health and well-being • Strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and depression.
“We believe that mental health should be treated with the same importance as physical health,” said Vicki Cerven-Astell, President of Kiwanis Club of Troy. “Our goal is to provide funds to help individuals understand that it’s “okay to not be okay”, to start conversations, and to ensure that no one feels alone in their journey.”
