Clint Richardson – Partner and Proprietor of Carrabba’s Italian Grill of Troy leads the team at Troy Carrabba’s and believes in giving back to the community. The Hardy Insurance Group, LLC

Cathi Hardy of The Hardy Insurance Group recently opened its doors after transitioning from the financial industry. I wanted a career that would allow me to be more involved and supportive in my community while still helping its members. I was previously involved with The Kiwanis Club of Troy on a personal level after becoming interested in the youth mental health initiative. When I opened my agency, it allowed me the opportunity to become more involved with Kiwanis. Mental health and the youth of our community are especially close to my heart, so I find being involved with The Kiwanis Club of Troy provides more opportunity to make a difference.

Insuring Change

Aarron Wilburn and Catherine Peterson of Insuring Change make things happen with youth.

Insuring Change is on a mission to change the poverty landscape, by arming our youth with the soft skills needed to open doors in their respective fields. Turning lost souls into true problem solvers. Insuring Change helps the youth see a better version of themselves. Mental health is becoming such an issue because this world wasn’t designed with them in mind. We have a corporate system that outlines what success is and what it looks like and a lot of our youth can’t see themselves a part of it. Can’t comprehend how to build the life they see for themselves, so they’re left to idolize it on social media and not feel like they’re smart or brave enough to do what needs to be done. We step in and help build their confidence towards achieving their goals.

Insuring Change joined Kiwanis because we believe in the work being done to impact our youth. I love watching the light bulbs go off in a child’s eyes when they truly learn something new that can change their lives. 

Our missions align in the sense that we are intentional about developing our future leaders. Some geographical areas require a different method, but ultimately the goal is to prepare our youth for a world that is competitive, selfish and money driven while trying to protect their identity and integrity.
