Kiwanis Club of Troy and Key Clubs – Christmas Gloves, Mittens, and Socks project
Kiwanis helps kids around the world. Our Kiwanis club looks out for our community and the Kiwanis international organization takes on large-scale challenges, such as fighting disease and poverty. Our Kiwanis club is generous with its time. We are creative with our ideas. We are passionate about making a difference. And we have fun along the way!
For more than a century, Kiwanis has created opportunities for children to be curious, safe and healthy regardless of the community in which they live. When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed and thrive, great things can happen.
The Troy Kiwanis Mission & Vision
Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children. The Troy Kiwanis mission and vision is focused on helping youth obtain the mental health counseling needed to overcome multiple versions of mental health illness. From suicide prevention awareness forums to paying for counseling sessions for those in financial need. When we replace the “i” in mental health illness with “we”, it becomes mental health wellness!
We also focus on developing our youth into leaders by providing them with opportunities to serve the public and have discussions with community leaders and professionals. We support four different local Kiwanis Key Clubs at Troy Athens, Troy High, International Academy East and International Academy Okma high schools.
Kiwanis Service
Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis club, no matter where in the world it’s located. Members stage approximately 150,000 service projects and raise nearly US$100 million every year for communities, families and projects. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.
Our Kiwanis club focuses on changing the world by serving children, one child in our community at a time. To reach more people and have a greater service impact on their communities, many clubs sponsor a Kiwanis family club — K-Kids for primary school children; Builders Clubs for adolescents; Key Clubs for teens; Circle K clubs for university students and Aktion Clubs for adults living with disabilities.

We would like to thank Fittfreddie Foundation and Cathi Hardy for presenting a check to the Troy Kiwanis Foundation KIT (Kiwanis Inspired Teens) Fund earlier this month. The KIT Fund enables youth needing mental health counseling but don't have insurance +/or low income to obtain funding to improve their mental health. The FittFreddie Foundation has been a great partner in providing funds to help youth receive financial assistance!
A "BIG" thank you to our community for supporting us in the Troy Kiwanis Foundation's KIT Fund mission!! Since the 2025 launch of this KIT Fund, over 150 mental health counseling sessions have been provided to community youth. Thank you to the Troy School District counseling offices for working with Autana Family Therapy Center to create positive changes in these youth's lives! Per school counselors, students receiving this help have changed their trajectories in their lives to hopeful and positive. #BeTheChange#KidsNeedKiwanis#MentalHealthMatters#CommunitySupport... Winning is not all that and neither is losing. It is just the outcome. The Olympics have shown us that mental health should be prioritized. Taking care of your mental health should be a priority. Take breaks and enjoy the breaks and the journey. We love how the most joy and healthy mental outlook was the gold medal winner in the ladies' ice skating Olympics. Alysa Liu is a great example for all youth and others to strive to take mental health seriously. When you do, what are the possibilities that lie ahead for you?
Troy Historic Village, 60 W Wattles Rd, Troy, MI 48098, USA
Join us as we raise money for the KIT (Kiwanis Inspired Teens) Mental Health Counseling program benefitting youth who need financial assistance for counseling. All proceeds will go toward helping students/youth navigate mental health issues.
